Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) QUESTION: Why am I receiving email that does not have my email address listed in the To: field? POSSIBLE SOLUTION(S):
Your email address was most likely entered into either the CC: or the BCC: field when the sender composed their message. CC: stands for "carbon copy" which allows a sender to send the same email to more that one email address and BCC: stands for "blind carbon copy" which has the same effect as a carbon copy, but any email addresses listed here will not be visible even when viewing the full headers of a message. While this is a common technique of spammers to create confusion and hide their tracks, it also has legitimate uses if a person is sending to a list of email addresses and does not want the recipients seeing each others' email addresses.
