Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
QUESTION:
How do I update the firmware of my Tellurian Networks supplied Cayman DSL router?
POSSIBLE SOLUTION(S):
You can upgrade your Cayman router's firmware which can improve the stability of the DSL connection and give you access to additional features.
- First, make sure your router is on and that you are connected to the Internet.
- In your browser, go to 192.168.1.254
- Click the "Home" link in the upper left.
- Click "Update Firmware" on the left side menu.
- Read the information and click "Continue."
- The screen will read "Please Wait..."
- When this waiting period completes, the screen will read "Newer Firmware is available, do you want to update?" Click "Yes"
- Again, the screen will read "Please Wait" and a blue bar will flash. Please be patient as the newer firmware is being downloaded, this may take up to five minutes. (At this point, if you receive a message "Update Failed," repeat from step 3.)
- When the download is complete, the screen will read "Update Status: Complete", click "Restart Device"
- Next, click "Restart the Gateway" and the Cayman will restart.
- When the Cayman has restarted, again open your browser and go to 192.168.1.254
- You will be asked to choose an admin password, please do so. Keep a note of this password as you will be asked for it each time you go to 192.168.1.254 from now on.
- After entering the password and confirming it, click OK.
- A login box will then come up, the username will be "Admin", enter the password you have just set, and click OK.
At this point, the firmware update is complete and an admin password is set. You can resume using the DSL connection.
